From a photo taken by the artist in the tropical plants conservatory of Kew Gardens. The Belize is a plant that grows mainly in the Caribbean. Its flower is the favourite food for local reptiles. The artist was inspired by the contrast of orange and vermilion on the green background. Acrylics on canvas stretched on hardboard. Size: 70 cm wide by 55 cm high. Owned by Kathleen Terzo in Los Angeles. Bought for £150.
